Charlie Friedland is a Partner at Geodesic Capital. He has nine years of venture capital, investing and technology experience. Prior to Geodesic, Charlie managed retention and win-back strategy at ipsy, a consumer Internet subscription business with more than 2.5 million monthly paying subscribers and more than 6 million active community members. While at ipsy, he was a key member of the team responsible for raising a $100m growth round of funding – the business’s first major outside financing event. Before ipsy, Charlie worked at Summit Partners on their Venture Team in Menlo Park where he focused on enterprise and consumer Internet investing. Charlie started his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

Charlie received a BA from Dartmouth College, with a major in economics and a minor in environmental studies. Prior to his investing and tech career, Charlie was a professional snowboarder sponsored by Burton and Smith Optics. He can tell you all the best places to hit the slopes throughout the world.
